my understanding is its basically just 6v6 with a cap of 1 medic 1 demoman and 2 for every other class. whats typical is 1 demoman 1 medic 2 scouts 2 soldiers for each team. a sniper is fairly common to replace a scout... pyro's, engies, spies, and heaviers still exist but are much more uncommon then even snipers....

I know I am new here but I would really like to get in on doing some competitive play. I have been looking for people to start up a scrim team with but have had little luck. My current schedule is probably too irregular for me to be in a leadership position especially because I work evenings. I have Mon-Wed free but the rest of the week I am scheduled to work 5-9pm EST. I have filled in on a couple of scrim matches before though so I know the ropes a little bit. Anyways I will be keeping a close eye on this thread and hopefully will be able to fill a team slot once things get organized. Also I am going to be looking for a day job in the near future so if that happens and I have evenings free I will be willing to take on a leadership role but as it stands now I just can't make that commitment. :(

Working 5-9 EST isn't really a problem. Our team usually schedules matches for somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-11:30.
Often we don't even start with scrims until 9.

I'm more than willing to be on the team, but I can't lead it. I've got a lot on my plate too. :|

If I were you guys I wouldnt go into match play without a leader who wants it real bad. Competitive play is about winning, and the respect earned that way. Representing NFK by being a disorganized mob is probably not in anyones interest

Alas engineering undergrad causes me to disappear off the face of the earth for days on end. Probably not what this group needs in a leader

Also, I am a nub. I play like a crackhead would; throw myself in impossible situations and see if I can somehow weasel my way out.

I'd be interested for sure. I'll have to starting work again on Scout.

As many of you know, I have started a L4D2 team with a few NFK guys and other Drunken Brawlers. We're active in TWL which has hosted our TF2 comp side in the past. I would say that I could try and help lead the competitive side as I'm already experienced in scheduling, recording, and things like that.

However, my schedule at work can change weekly (ie: worked 2nd shift last week, now I'm on night shift), so I don't know how reliable I'd be.

TL;DR: I'm willing to lead, but not the most consistent.
